Education: I hold a B.A. in History and Politics with a minor in Military Science from Drake University and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). At SAIS, I built upon my military experience, focusing on the intersection of national security and technology/innovation.

Professional: Prior to attending SAIS, I served in the U.S. Army from 2014 – 2022. From 2014 – 2018, I served as an Engineer Officer at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where I had the privilege of leading both combat and construction engineer organizations.

From 2018 – 2022, I served as a Psychological Operations Officer. During this time, I led the deployment of a small team to Beirut in support of the U.S. Ambassador and was selected to serve as the Liaison from 1st Special Forces Command to U.S. Army Cyber Command. Additionally, I completed assignments at the 1st Special Forces Command’s Information Warfare Center, 4th Psychological Operations Group, and the 8th Psychological Operations Group’s Media Operations Complex.

In the fall of 2023, I worked as a Google Fellow at TechNet in Washington, D.C., where I analyzed federal policies and regulations regarding advanced and emerging technologies. Over the summer of 2024, I served as a Graduate Fellow at the Inter-American Defense College and led the Research Department’s strategy to secure federal funding in support of its lines of research.
